‘Zero Zeno’: OpenAI report says Israeli firm tried to interfere in Lok Sabha elections, ran anti-BJP agenda
New Delhi: OpenAI’s investigation has revealed that Israeli company STOIC tried to interfere in the recent Lok Sabha elections in India by running an anti-BJP agenda. This covert influence campaign, called “Zero Zeno”, was part of a larger effort by the firm to influence public opinion in various regions, including Canada, the United States, Israel and Ghana.
The campaign used artificial intelligence (AI) to create web articles and social media comments, which were then disseminated on multiple platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and X. The content was aimed at audiences in India, including criticism of the ruling BJP party and praise of the opposition Congress party. The campaign was detected and disrupted less than 24 hours after it was launched
