US Presidential Election: Trump wins Florida and four other states, Harris holds on to Massachusetts and Maryland

US Election Results: After a bitter election campaign, US voters will either make Democrat Kamala Harris the first woman president in the country’s history or hand over power to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for a second consecutive term in the Oval Office.

The counting of votes for the US elections has begun; US networks have projected Donald Trump winning 23 states and Kamala Harris 11 states. As for the Electoral College numbers, which will determine the winner in this election, the former President is ahead with 247 votes and Harris is behind with 214. Each candidate is aiming to achieve the magic figure of 270 Electoral College votes.

As far as swing states are concerned, Trump is leading in six of the seven battleground states.

Donald Trump said he would be ready to concede defeat after Tuesday’s vote “if it’s a fair election”, while again raising concerns about the use of electronic voting machines. However, Trump said he felt “very confident” about winning back the White House after voting in Florida in one of the most controversial US elections in decades.
