24 fatalities, including 12 newborn deaths, have been reported in the last 24 hours at the Nanded Hospital in Maharashtra.

Priyanka Chaturvedi described the occurrence as “murder due to complete negligence” while Sharad Pawar and Rahul Gandhi slammed the Eknath Shinde administration over the deaths of 24 persons in a government hospital in Nanded, Maharashtra, in as many hours.

In the last 24 hours, the Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital in Nanded reported 24 deaths, 12 of which were newborns. A three-member expert team has been created to look into the event, an official told PTI.

Nationalist Congress Party’s Sharad Pawar said the incident highlights the failure of government systems and called for a serious response to ensure the safety of patients in future.
