Sensex continues to rise for an eighth day; the Nifty has slightly declined since hitting a record high.

On September 12, despite mixed global market patterns, BSE Sensex resumed its upward for the eighth straight day, while Nifty closed slightly down after reaching a new record high.

Closed at 67,221.13, up 94.05 points or 0.14%, the 30-share BSE Sensex. It increased by 412.02 points (0.61%) or 67,539.10 over the day.

Nifty, on the other hand, quickly gave back all of its gains, closing in choppy trade 3.15 points, or 0.02%, lower at 19,993.20. It increased 114 points or 0.57% throughout the day to reach an all-time high of 20,110.35.

Tata Consultancy Services, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, UltraTech Cement, ICICI Bank, Nestle, ITC, and Sun Pharma were among the top gainers among Sensex companies.
