Revelations in CBI’s excise policy case chargesheet: TDP MP requested Arvind Kejriwal, bribe of Rs 90-100 crore paid to AAP leaders

In relation to the excise policy “scam,” the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday filed its final chargesheet in the Rouse Avenue Court against Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal and others. The chargesheet exposes some harsh facts about the AAP chieftain and the chief minister of Delhi.

According to the CBI chargesheet against K Kavitha, TDP MP and liquor baron Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy met Arvind Kejriwal at his office in Delhi Secretariat on March 16, 2021.

The chargesheet requested him to make changes in the Excise Policy 2021-22, which was under formulation at the time, to support his liquor business in Delhi.

Further, the chargesheet mentioned that Kejriwal assured Reddy of support and asked him to contact accused Kavitha as she was working with his team on Delhi’s excise policy. The CBI alleged that Kejriwal also asked Reddy to provide funds for his political party – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Going further, the central agency mentioned that certain persons connected with the liquor business of South India paid an advance bribe of around Rs 90-100 crore to certainAAP leaders and other public servants are accused of changing the Excise Policy 2021–22 in order to benefit themselves. Vijay Nair, Abhishek Boinpalli, and Dinesh Arora are co-accused in this case.
