‘Rahul Gandhi ko…’: Karnataka BJP MLA lands party in trouble

BJP MLA threatens Rahul Gandhi, says he will be attacked if he visits Mangaluru city

Karnataka BJP MLA Bharat Shetti made headlines on Monday, July 8, with a controversial statement suggesting that Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi should be locked up inside Parliament and slapped for his alleged anti-Hindu remarks.

Shetti, a Mangaluru City North MLA, addressed the matter by saying, “LoP Rahul Gandhi should be locked up inside Parliament and slapped.” There will be seven or eight FIRs filed as a result of this act. If LoP Rahul Gandhi visits Mangaluru city, we will arrange the same for him.” Accusing Rahul Gandhi of holding a picture of Hindu god Shiva, Shetti said, “The lunatic does not know that if Lord Shiva opens his third eye, he (LOP) will be consumed. He has adopted an anti-Hindu policy. It is clear that LOP Rahul Gandhi is a lunatic. He thinks Hindus will quietly listen to whatever he says. If he ‘barks’ in Parliament, local leaders will start wagging their tails here.”

Stressing the BJP’s duty to protect Hindu religion and institutions, Shetti warned that the Congress has started giving the message that Hindus and Hindutva are different. He said Hindus will face danger in the future because of such leaders.

Further alleging that Rahul Gandhi changes his stance depending on the region he visits, Shetti claimed, “When he comes to Gujarat, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi becomes a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva.”
