NEET-UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing Live Updates: CJI notes timelines of question paper leak, next hearing on July 22

NEET-UG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing Live Updates: The Supreme Court is hearing several petitions related to the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case today on July 18. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra is hearing the matter. Citing conflict of interest arising out of the membership of the director of IIT Madras on the governing board of NTA, advocate Hooda claimed that the institute’s data analysis report cannot be relied upon.

According to the Solicitor General, 131 students are seeking a re-examination, while 254 are opposing it. The CJI has sought information from the NTA on how many students changed exam cities and who made it to the top 1.08 lakh and whether there was any bias in favour of students who registered on April 9 and 10 in the wake of the allegations of increase in marks and paper leak.

“The goal of anybody doing this (paper leak) is not to create a sham of the NEET exam at the national level,” the Chief Justice of India stated further. People were doing this for money. So whoever is making money from this will not circulate it on a large scale.”
