Men’s Javelin Throw Final, Olympics 2024: Neeraj Chopra wins silver with best effort of 89.45m in Olympic javelin throw, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem (92.97m) bags gold

Neeraj Chopra Men’s Javelin Throw Final, Olympics 2024: Neeraj Chopra won silver with a season’s best throw of 89.45m in the javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Friday morning. However, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem did better and set a new Olympic record of 92.97m to win the gold. He is now Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold medallist. Arshad Nadeem broke the previous Olympic record of 90.57m set by Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Grenada’s Anderson Peters won bronze (88.54m). Neeraj, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Summer Games three years ago, registered a mammoth throw of 89.34m in Group B of the men’s javelin throw qualification round at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday.
