Maldives President to attend PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in New Delhi: Report
This will be the first official visit of President Muizzu, known for his pro-China stance, to India since assuming office on November 17 last year.
MAL: Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has accepted an invitation to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in New Delhi over the weekend, a media report said today.
Maldives news portal Edition.mv quoted its sister publication Mihaaru News in Dhivehi as saying that President Muizzu will leave for New Delhi on Saturday for the ceremony along with several other senior government officials.
The Maldives President’s Office has not yet provided an official statement regarding Muizzu’s first official visit to India. President Muizzu congratulated Prime Minister Modi earlier on Wednesday and said he would like to collaborate with him to advance bilateral relations.
