Liquor policy: Arvind Kejriwal moves Delhi HC challenging arrest, CBI remand

In an attempt to overturn his arrest and the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) remand in a corruption case involving the purported liquor policy scandal, Chief Minister The Delhi High Court has received a plea from Arvind Kejriwal.

Kejriwal is in judicial custody in connection with the corruption and money laundering cases related to the alleged scam.

The Chief Minister was on June 26 sent to CBI custody for three days by vacation judge Amitabh Rawat, who had said that the arrest cannot be termed illegal at this stage.

The judge, however, had said that the arrest was not illegal but the CBI should not be overzealous.

Later, on June 29, Kejriwal was placed in judicial custody by vacation judge Sunaina Sharma because the CBI had not yet requested his continued remand.
