Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas charges Rs 80 crore; Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan’s shocking fees revealed | Report
Telugu superstar Prabhas has become one of the highest-paid actors of Kalki 2898 AD. The much-awaited film has finally released today on June 27 and reports claim that Prabhas has charged Rs 80 crore for his role in the Nag Ashwin directorial. A report also claims that Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have been paid equal amounts for the film. It is also being said that Kalki 2898 AD is made on a budget of Rs 600 crore.
According to a report in Jagran, Prabhas usually charges around Rs 150 crore per film. However, for Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas has halved his fees. The report claims that Prabhas has charged a fee of Rs 80 crore.
On the other hand, the report claims that Deepika has asked for Rs 20 crore for her first Telugu project. Deepika plays the role of Sumati, a woman who will revolutionise the world of Kalki 2898. In the trailer, she is shown with a huge baby bump and saves her child from being killed.
Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are said to have been paid Rs 20 crore each, the same as Deepika, for their performances in Kalki 2898 AD. Amitabh plays the powerful Ashwatthama. The trailer features him in full form and fans who watched the first day first show have also praised Big B’s acting. Meanwhile, Kamal plays the villain Kali, who kills Sumati’s child in the film.
Kalki 2898 AD has taken a great opening. The film has sold over 19 lakh tickets across the country across all languages. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is expected to break several records at the box office as film trade experts are predicting a net collection of over Rs 100 crore for the film.
