Canada-India News The assassination of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar damaged bilateral relations between India and Canada, which led to the removal of senior diplomats. Even yet, the Canadian government urged its nationals to “exercise a high degree of caution” in a travel alert.
According to the Canadian government’s travel advice for India, “Avoid all travel to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir due to the unpredictable security situation.”
“Terrorism, militancy, civil upheaval, and kidnapping pose threats. The Union Territory of Ladakh is not included in this travel warning. Avoid rallies and protests, the administration advised, according to ANI.

After Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated on Tuesday that Ottawa wanted New Delhi to adequately address the matter, the warning was modified. However, he said that his nation was under no circumstances attempting to provoke India.
“Neither provocation nor escalation are our goals. We are simply outlining the information as well as we can. This issue needs to be treated seriously by the Indian government. That’s what we’re doing, Trudeau assured the press.
“For Canada, I said yesterday … we will remain calm, we will stick to our democratic principles and values … and we will follow the evidence and make sure the job gets done.” He continued.
