Donald Trump’s campaign says hackers carried out attack, blames “foreign sources”
The campaign of Donald Trump announced on Saturday that it had been compromised, citing “foreign sources” as the source of internal emails and a J.D. Vance dossier that was distributed.
Following news outlet Politico’s report that it had received emails containing campaign materials from a source who wished to remain anonymous, Trump’s campaign made hints that Iran was behind the move.
A spokesperson for the Donald Trump campaign, Steven Cheung, said in a statement that the documents were “illegally obtained from foreign sources hostile to the United States with the intent to interfere with the 2024 election and sow chaos in our democratic process.”
