Attacking Canada with “organized crime, extremism,” S. Jaishankar
The External Affairs Minister expressed concern over these incidents of threats to Indian diplomats and attacks on Indian consulates, saying these were “very permissible” for political reasons.
New York: Amid the ongoing India-Canada dispute, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted “separatist forces, violence and organized crime related to extremism” in Canada, and expressed concern over them being “too lenient” for political reasons.
Mr. Jaishankar said, “Over the last few years, Canada has actually seen a lot of organized crime related to separatist forces, organized crime, violence, and extremism.” He was speaking at the “Discussion at the Council on Foreign Relations” in New York. They have closely observed how all of these are intermingled. In essence, we are discussing information and specs.

He further emphasized that the Indian government has provided a lot of information about the crime to the Canadian side, and there have been a large number of extradition requests.
They have received a lot of information from us regarding Canadian organized crime and its top figures. There are numerous requests for extradition. Leaders of the terrorist organization have been located, he claimed.
