Sources: Rahul Gandhi is eager for an AAP-Congress alliance in the Haryana elections.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is keen on an alliance between his party and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming Haryana assembly election, sources told India Today TV.

According to sources, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday sought the opinion of Haryana Congress leaders on the possibility of an alliance with the AAP during a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC).

Last month, senior Congress leader Kumari Selja, in an interview with news agency PTI, ruled out the possibility of an alliance with the AAP for the Haryana assembly elections and said her party is a strong player in the state, and will go it alone in the polls.

Meanwhile, according to sources, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda may be fielded from his bastion Gadhi Sampla-Kiloi, while state Congress chief Uday Bhan may contest from Hodal.

There are 90 assembly seats in Haryana, where voting will take place on October 5.On October 8, the results will be announced.
