Reliance Jio plans ‘Cloud Laptop’ to lower ownership costs: Everything you need to know
Reliance Jio is reportedly working on a ‘cloud laptop’ that will be priced around ₹15,000, significantly reducing the cost of ownership.
“The laptop will be a ‘dumb terminal’ with all storage and processing on Jio Cloud, allowing users to access all services at faster speeds,” the Economic Times report quoted a senior Reliance Jio official as saying.
The agent said: “You have a basic laptop that you use like any other, but all of your memory, processing power, and other components—which raise the expense—are kept in the cloud.” . Several persons can use the same gadget with different personalized services.

(1.) Currently, one has to spend around ₹50,000 to buy a laptop, the official told The Economic Times. In comparison, on the other hand, the Reliance Jio PC (Personal Computer) will come at around ₹15,000.
(2.) The country’s leading telecom operator is in talks with top manufacturers like Acer, HP, Lenovo, and will bring laptops to the market in ‘a few months’.
(3.) Tests are being conducted on HP Chromebooks for the proposed cloud PC, which will be Jio’s second laptop; In July, the Mumbai-based company launched JioBook for ₹16,499.
