The latter went live on September 19, the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, while the former launched on August 7.
Reliance Jio’s AirFiber, which debuted a day earlier on Ganesh Chaturthi, is now a competitor to Airtel’s Extreme AirFiber, which calls itself “India’s first wireless home WiFi service powered by 5G Plus.”
Xtreme AirFiber, a fixed wireless access (FWA) service, launched on August 7. Its Jio counterpart provides internet speeds comparable to fiber over the air without the use of wires.
Availability of Airtel Extreme AirFiber vs. Reliance Jio AirFiber: Currently, the former is exclusively offered in Delhi and Mumbai; the firm plans a phased national expansion.
However, it is already operational in eight places, including the two previously stated. Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune make up the remaining cities.
Speed and Plan: Airtel only provides one plan for its smartphones. The package costs $799 for six months and requires a $2500 upfront refundable security deposit. It has a data speed of 100 Mbps.

In the meanwhile, there are two types of Jio device plans: AirFiber and AirFiber Max. Data rates of 30 Mbps (at ₹599) and 100 Mbps (at ₹899, ₹1189) are available to consumers in the first tier. The second category’s data speeds are 300 Mbps (₹1499), 500 Mbps (₹2499), and 1000 Mbps (₹3399).
