‘Putin will eat you for lunch’: On Ukraine war, Kamala Harris responds to Trump’s ‘bad negotiator’ accusation

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on Tuesday (US local time) battled to influence the 2024 presidential election on the biggest stage in American politics. The event was held in Philadelphia.

When Trump claimed that he could mediate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine on behalf of the United States, Harris accused the former president of praising “dictators”, making a reference to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

She also said that Putin will eat Trump for lunch and that the former US president is trying to divide and distract people from reality.

“He is trying to divide and distract people from reality. It’s no secret that he thinks dictators are great. He and Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, exchanged love letters. These dictators and autocrats want you to be president again because they are so gullible that they can manipulate you with flattery and favors. That’s why so many military leaders told me you’re a disgrace,” Kamala Harris told Trump on stage.

“If Trump were Putin, he would be sitting inside Ukraine,” Harris said, “understanding why European allies and our core allies are so grateful that you’re no longer president, and understanding the importance of the largest military alliance the world has ever seen, which is NATO, and what we’ve done to preserve (Ukrainian President) Volodymyr Zelensky and the ability of Ukrainians to fight for their freedom,” Harris said.
Putin would otherwise be seated in Kiev, his sights fixed on the remainder of Europe. “You would have quickly lost interest in doing favors and in your friendship with a despot who will eat you for lunch,” the woman remarked.
