New Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Launching in 2024: Top 5 Things to Know

The most powerful Pulsar to date, the NS400 will likely launch in 2024; Bajaj will install Dominar 400 engine in its upcoming bike

Taking forward the highly popular Pulsar nameplate, Bajaj Auto is working on its most powerful and largest version yet. Likely to be called NS400, the naked sports bike will use the underpinnings from the NS200 while the powertrain will be lifted from the Dominar 400. Let’s take a look at the top 5 things to know about the upcoming new Bajaj Pulsar NS400.

1. Dominar 400 engine
Bajaj will use the 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine of the Pulsar NS400 from the Dominar 400, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is essentially derived from the engine of the previous generation KTM Duke 390, however, it has been re-tuned to suit the touring-specific character of the Dominar 400. The motor is rated for 40 horsepower and 35 Nm of peak torque. We expect the two-wheeler manufacturer to work with this engine to better fit the character of the NS400, possibly by changing the gear ratio or power delivery pattern.

As we all know that the Pulsar moniker has always been appreciated for its value-for-money preposition. It will be continued with the NS400 and reports suggest that it will be positioned below the Dominar 400 which is currently retailing at Rs. 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom). However, there is a possibility that the Pulsar NS400 could be the new flagship product from Bajaj, which will be priced slightly more than the Dominar 400. Still, we are pretty sure it will be priced lower than the Triumph Speed 400.

3. Launch Timeline
According to media reports, Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will be launched in the year 2024 and specifically by the second quarter (April-June 2024). We expect more details to be revealed along with an exact launch timeline in the coming months.

, Pulsar NS200 based styling
Since the name of the bike will be NS, it will be inspired by Pulsar NS200 in terms of design. While the NS200’s design has become very dated, it needs a refresh. We expect the NS400 to come with a new and modern design similar to its 200cc sibling. The same styling can also be applied to the smaller capacity NS series bikes. USD forks will remain part of the package.

5. Rival
Competing in a highly competitive price segment, the new Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is likely to get a lot of heat from its rivals. It will compete with some of the major players in its price and engine category. The list includes the new-gen KTM Duke 390, Triumph Speed 400, TVS Apache RTR 310, Honda CB300R and BMW G 310R among others.
