Dr. Divyakirti was born on December 26, 1973, into a middle-class Haryana family. His mother was a PGT teacher in Bhiwani, and his father was a well-known professor of Hindi literature at Maharshi Dayanand University. Her two older brothers are a DIG in the CBI and a software engineer in the US, respectively. Dr. Divyakirti received her early education at Bhiwani’s Saraswati Shishu Mandir before attending Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi, to earn a bachelor’s degree in Hindi. She continued her education by earning an MA, MPhil, PhD, and postgraduate degrees in Hindi and English. Her impressive academic background positions her as one of India’s most qualified instructors for UPSC exams.
After completing her education, Dr. Divyakirti started teaching at Delhi University. Also, influenced by family expectations, she prepared for UPSC exams and secured AIR 384 in 1996. Although she worked in the Ministry of Home Affairs for a while, her passion for teaching led her to establish Drishti IAS Coaching Centre in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi in 1999.
