Donald Trump tells Christians they won’t have to vote after this election

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told Christians on Friday that if they vote for him this November, “in four years, you won’t have to vote again. We’ll make it so good you won’t have to vote.”

The former president’s remarks during an election campaign in which his Democratic opponents called him a threat to democracy and following his attempt to reverse his 2020 loss to President Joe Biden—an attempt that ignited the deadly uprising at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021—were not entirely clear.

An inquiry for an explanation of Trump’s remarks was not immediately answered by the campaign.

Trump was speaking at a West Palm Beach, Florida, event hosted by the conservative organisation Turning Point Action.

Trump said: “Christians, get out and vote, just this once. “You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know, it’ll be fine, it’ll be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians.”
