Delhi court orders Arvind Kejriwal’s custody, warning for CBI

The Rouse Avenue court has said that Arvind Kejriwal can meet his wife Sunita for an hour daily and get home-cooked food
The special CBI court, which refused to grant relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case, has said that based on the material on record, it cannot be said at this stage that the arrest is illegal, but warned that the investigating agency should not be “overzealous”.

Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to CBI custody for three days – two days less than the period sought by the agency. Within the Rouse Avenue court, he was taken into custody by the CBI. He had been granted bail earlier by the Rouse Avenue court, but the Delhi High Court halted it and held off on making an order. Despite petitioning the Supreme Court, Mr. Kejriwal received no response.

Then, the High Court declined to give him bail.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader’s wife has alleged that the “whole system” is trying to ensure that he remains in jail. “Arvind Kejriwal got bail on June 20. Soon after that ED took a stay. The very next day CBI made him an accused. And today he was arrested.

The goal of the entire system is to prevent the man from being released from prison. This is not legal advice. “This is an emergency, this is a dictatorship,” Sunita Kejriwal wrote in a post on “X.” The Rouse Avenue Court stated that “investigation is the prerogative of the”in its order granting the CBI custody for three days,” the investigating agency stated. At this point, based on the evidence in the file, it cannot be said that the arrest is unlawful because the law has established certain safeguards. But the agency shouldn’t become overly enthusiastic,” it stated.
