Chandrayaan-4 parts to be sent in two launches, assembled in space: ISRO chief

This has to be done because Chandrayaan-4 is expected to exceed the carrying capacity of even the most powerful rocket that ISRO has at the moment.

Chandrayaan-4, which is supposed to bring back samples from the Moon, will not be launched in one go and instead, various parts of the spacecraft will be sent into orbit through two launches and the spacecraft will be assembled in space before it goes to the Moon, ISRO Chairman S Somnath said on Wednesday.
