Arvind Kejriwal bail live updates: High court stays bail to Arvind Kejriwal
The AAP chief had on Thursday secured bail on a personal bond of ₹1 lakh with conditions
Hours before his release from Tihar jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal suffered a major setback when the Delhi High Court stayed his bail in the corruption case related to the Delhi liquor policy. The move came after the Enforcement Directorate challenged Kejriwal’s bail in a fresh plea.
By means of the Nalanda University Act, 2010, the Indian Parliament founded Nalanda University.
The court said it was reserving the order for two-three days as it wanted to go through the entire record.
The ED put up its plea challenging the lower court’s bail order for an urgent hearing before a bench of Justices Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Dudeja. The high court said the trial court’s order will not be acted upon until it hears the plea. The AAP chief was granted bail on Thursday on a personal bond of Rs one lakh with certain conditions. He was earlier arrested on March 21. Earlier, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections and he returned to jail on June 2.
