Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant wedding to be held in UK too? ‘Venue’ organisers say…
Newlywed couple Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s ₹5,454 crore wedding party is set to be held in the UK, with several British dignitaries and guests set to attend the wedding festivities honouring the son of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani.
British daily The Independent had earlier reported that the Ambani family has bought the seven-star hotel – Stoke Park Country Club – for ₹614 crore (£57 million) in 2021.
The hotel, Stoke Park, gained fame on the silver screen, most notably in “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, where Hugh Grant’s character falls overboard during a boating scene.
The Independent had earlier reported that British royalty Prince Harry would attend the wedding ceremony, however, Stoke Park has denied the report.
Some of the guests who attended the Mumbai wedding, such as Boris and Carrie Johnson, may be attending the Ambani celebrations for the second time. They apparently received payment to go to the event in Mumbai. The Independent claims that there are rumours that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also invited to the UK by the Ambani family.
The Ambani family’s UK event has been mired in controversy, according to reports. According to media reports, around 850 members of the Grade II listed golf club have been advised to “stay away” from the area, as the Ambani family has exclusively reserved the hotel for renovations until September for the upcoming event.
