After Canadian Parliament pays tribute to Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Union Minister Jaishankar recalls Kanishka bomb blast
While Minister Hardeep Puri says the ‘system and mindset that fuelled the Kanishka bomb blast are finding strengths and sympathisers’, Canadian police says ‘we must never forget those innocent lives lost in this tragedy and other acts of terrorism’.
Days after the Canadian Parliament paid tribute to pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday recalled the 1985 Kanishka bomb blast in a social media post, saying it was a reminder why terrorism should not be tolerated.
“One of the worst acts of terrorism in history occurred 39 years ago today,” stated Jaishankar. “I honor the memory of the 329 people who perished on this day in 1985 as a result of AI 182’s ‘Kanishka’ attack.” My sympathies go out to their families. The anniversary serves as a reminder that terrorism is intolerable.
