Sheikh Hasina’s incomplete speech made a big allegation on America

Before resigning as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and fleeing her residence in Dhaka, Sheikh Hasina wanted to address the country, especially the protesters whose movement forced her to leave the top post. That speech could not be given as the protesters had reached her doorstep and the country’s top security officials advised her to leave as soon as possible.

Big allegation on America

Now in India, 76-year-old Sheikh Hasina has spoken to her close aides about the incomplete speech, which NDTV has accessed. In the letter, Sheikh Hasina has accused the US of conspiring to change the regime in the country and if she had the opportunity, she would have said this in her speech.

“I resigned so I wouldn’t have to watch the body procession. I stopped them from gaining power by using the bodies of the students. I resigned as prime minister. I might still be in charge if I had given up sovereignty of St. Martin’s Island and allowed the US to rule the Bay of Bengal. Her speech ended abruptly, “I beg the people of my nation to please not be misled by the fundamentalists.”

Situated in the northeastern region of the Bay of Bengal, St. Martin’s Island spans a mere 3 square kilometers. It is Bangladesh’s southernmost region.

It further said, “Perhaps, if I had stayed in the country, more lives would have been lost. I have removed myself. You were my strength, you didn’t want me, so I left.”
She said that the Awami League has always recovered in a message to her party members. The speech went on to say, “Have hope. I’ll be back shortly. I have failed, but the people of Bangladesh—the ones who lost my father and my family—have triumphed.”
