Robert Downey Jr charged over $80 million for Dr Doom, returns to MCU on this condition: Report
Doctor Doom actor Robert Downey Jr’s fee for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars has reportedly been revealed. The actor has confirmed that he will move from playing Iron Man to playing Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The news was shared during the Marvel panel at Hall H of San Diego Comic-Con. According to a report, the Oscar-winning actor is reportedly charging $80 million (about Rs 6,69,83,52,000) for each film since returning to the MCU.
A source told Variety that the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, have been roped in to direct the Avengers films in exchange for a payment of $80 million, while RDJ is charging “significantly more” than that to play Doctor Doom. The report states that the deal with Russo does not include ‘back-end compensation, but does include performance escalators that apply at thresholds of $750 million and $1 billion.’ The director will also co-produce the Avengers films.
