Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation on Monday announced the launch of ‘Vantara’, which aims to rescue, treat, care and rehabilitate injured, abused and endangered animals in India and abroad.
Deva, a nine-year-old leopard who was the victim of poaching, spent two days stuck in a metal wire trap, where he sustained severe injuries and an infection on his neck. A group of specialists and vets from Vantara arrived at the location after learning of the leopard’s condition from the forest department. They provided the leopard with care for several days until it fully recovered.

The Reliance Foundation said on Sunday that Deva, who is now receiving treatment, is one of the more than 2,000 animals who have undergone rehabilitation and are now a part of the Vantara Animal Ecosystem.
